befoRe fiRst use

Before using your coffeemaker for the first time, wash carafe/lid and removable filter basket using a mild, non-abrasive detergent
and water. Rinse each thoroughly. follow Steps 3 – 5 under brewing coffee only using water, to clean the inside.
caRafe use and caRe
follow the instructions below to reduce or eliminate the chance of breaking the glass carafe:
1. This carafe is to be used with your Sunbeam™ coffeemaker and therefore must never be used on a range top or in any oven,
including a microwave oven.
2. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
3. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
4. Do not clean the carafe with abrasive cleaners, steel wool pads or other abrasive materials.
5. Discard the carafe immediately if it is ever boiled dry.
6. P rotect the carafe from sharp blows, scratches or rough handling.
7. Do not place hot carafe on or near paper, cloth or other flammable material.
8. Use the lid on the carafe while brewing and pouring coffee.

bReWing coffee

1. L ift the coffeemaker lid for filter basket and water reservoir access. Insert a 4-Cup filter paper or filter pack into the removable
filter basket.
2. A dd desired amount of coffee if using filter paper, referring to the Coffee Measurement Chart. (See Page 3) Shake lightly to
level coffee. Be sure the filter is centered.
3. F ill the carafe with cold water to desired capacity as marked on the side of the carafe (1 cup = 148ml). To brew 4 cups of coffee,
fill the carafe to the 4-cup line.
4. P our the water into the water reservoir. note: For easy and accurate filling, refer to cup markings on the water windows. Place
the empty carafe onto the warming plate.
5. P lug the cord into the electrical outlet and turn your coffeemaker switch to the "on" position. When the coffee stops flowing,
the brewing cycle is complete. note: The warming plate will keep your coffee hot until you turn your coffeemaker off.
