CYCLE OPTION
BUTTONS
Your washing machine features several additional cycle
options to customize cycles to meet your individual needs.
_1 Turn ON the washer and turn the cycle selector knob
to select the desired cycle.
_1 Use the cycle modifier buttons to adjust the settings for
that cycle.
_1 Press the cycle option button(s) for the option(s) you
would like to add. The button will light when that option
is selected.
If the selected option is not allowed for the selected
cycle, the chime will sound twice to inform you that it is
not allowed.
O
Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.
The cycle will begin after the lid lock is activated.
NOTE: To protect your garments, not every option is
available with every cycle. See the CYCLE GUIDE on
page 14 for details.
NOTE: If the START/PAUSE button is not pressed within 4
minutes, the control will shut off and the settings will be
lost.
STAIN TREAT
Use this option to wash loads with mul-

tiple types of soils. With this option, the
water temperature is raised in three
steps to optimize cleaning performance.
During the final
wash step, the water is heated and maintained at the
highest temperature for that cycle for 10 minutes.
NOTE: The best results are obtained with smaller loads
(less than 6 Ibs).
SAVE ENERGY
Save Energy@_l This option saves energy by using cool-
er temperatures and different operations
to help maintain washer performance
while reducing energy consumption.
SAVE ENERGY + is only available for the following cycles
and settings:
• NORMAL/CASUAL
cycle with HOT/COLD water temper-
ature
• NORMAL!CASUAL
cycle with WARM/COLD
water tem-
perature
• HEAVY DUTY cycle with HOT/COLD water temperature
EXTRA RINSE
I Extra Rinse
This option will add an extra rinse to
Wo,o_ P_o,
the selected cycle. Use this option to
help ensure the removal of detergent or
bleach residue from fabrics. Pressing the EXTRA RINSE
button twice will add two additional rinses to the cycle.
The LED will be on steady for either one or two extra rinses.
Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.
Turn the cycle selector knob to select the desired
cycle.
Press the CYCLE MODIFIER buttons to change the
desired settings.
Press the EXTRA RINSE button once or twice to select
one or two extra rinses. The LED will be on.
• If you want to delete extra rinse, press the button one
or two more times until the EXTRA RINSE light is off.
Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.
NOTE: You cannot select the EXTRA RINSE option with
the DRAIN & SPIN cycle.
WATER PLUS
Extra Rinse __1 Select this option to add extra water to

}Yl the wash and rinse cycles. This option
is especially useful for extra large or
bulky items. Press and hold the EXTRA RINSE button for
3 seconds to activate or deactivate WATER PLUS. When
WATER PLUS is selected, the LED will be blinking.

cycle.(It is not available in spin cycle)

the WATER PLUS button will have no effect.
NOTE: You cannot select the WATER PLUS option in the
SANITIZATION, BULKY/BEDDING,
and CLEAN WASH-
ER cycle.
CLEAN WASHER
Clean Washer i?l A buildup of detergent residue can
occur in the wash tub over time and
can lead to a mildewy or musty odors.
The CLEAN WASHER cycle is specially designed to
remove this buildup using bleach or other cleaner
designed specifically for cleaning washers.
The CLEAN WASHER cycle should be run once a month,
or more often under heavy use conditions or if odor is
present. See the page 23 for details.
