Dear user of the E-MAG Control!
Your orthotist has fabricated an individual leg orthosis for you. To be able to lock or release the
knee joint, your orthotist has recommended you a state-of-the-art locking device – the E-MAG
Control.
E-MAG Control is an electromagnetic lock joint. This technology offers you many advantages in
comparison with conventional, manual locking devices. An electronic response system informs
you, whether your E-MAG Control is open or closed, and you no longer have to check for yourself,
if your lock is actually closed.
The E-MAG Control is a closed system, which means that the lock is less susceptible to contami-
nation and at the same time prevents clothing from getting caught in it. This is not only good for
your trousers but, above all, offers you more safety.
Safety is indispensable. For this reason, you have the operation of the E-MAG completely in your
own hands – with a remote control. Depending on the version you have decided on, either a
hand-held unit or a remote control integrated into your crutches will be used to open and close the
E-MAG Control. Your hands are thus generally free and you can use them to support yourself
when sitting down for example.
These Instructions for Use describe the functions and operation of the E-MAG Control as well as
how to charge it and care for it.
