Never spray water onto
motor or engine components,
seals, bearing points or
electrical parts such as
switches. This would result in
expensive repairs.
If you are unable to remove
the dirt and accumulated
deposits with a brush, a damp
cloth or a stick, VIKING
recommends the use of a
special cleaner (e.g. STIHL
special cleaner).
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Clean the blade discs regularly.
11.2 Installing the feed chute
The closure screws must be
securely fastened to the feed chute.
● Attach feed chute (1) to fastening hooks
on the basic unit (2) and pivot forwards.
● Tighten both closure screws (3)
simultaneously.
11.3 Removing the feed chute
● Loosen both closure screws (1)
until they turn freely. They remain
on the feed chute
● Pivot the feed chute (2) to the rear and
remove.

11.4 Locking the blade disc
Risk of injury:
Always wear gloves.
Do not touch the blades
until they have come to a
standstill.
● Remove the feed chute. (
● Turn blade disc (1) to that the
recess (2) is located in front of the
locking device (3).
● Fold up the locking device (3).
11.5 Removing the blade set
● Lock the blade disc (5). (
● Loosen screw (1) with

combination spanner (V).
● Remove the screw (1), retaining
washer (2), clamping ring (3), wing
blade (4), wing blade (6, only on
GE 250 and GE 260) and blade
disc (5).
● Remove the reversible blade. (
● GE 250 and GE 260: Unscrew
screws (7) and remove together with
nuts (9). Remove the shredding

blades (8) downwards.
11.6 Installing the blade set
The installation sequence and
specified tightening torques must
always be observed.
● Attach the reversible blade to the blade
disc. (

● GE 250 and GE 260: Position the
shredding blades (8) on the underside
of the blade disc (5) and fasten with

nuts (9) and screws (7) (10 Nm).
● Insert the blade disc (5) into the
housing and fasten. (
● Fit the wing blade (6, for GE 250 and
GE 260 only), wing blade (4), clamping
ring (3) and retaining washer (2) and

● Fold back the locking device so that the
blade disc can turn freely again.
