throttle tube. You need to choose the correct version for your particular
handlebar.
3.2 | Safety instructions
WARNING!
Risk of accident!
• Installing the throttle tube on your motorcycle requires
technical know-how. It is essential that the twistgrip does
not stick. It must always turn freely and spring back when
released so that the engine power is automatically cut back
to idling.
• No oil or grease must get under or on the installed twistgrip.
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons,
elderly persons with reduced physical and mental abilities) or
lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children)!
• The kit includes small parts which could be swallowed, and
plastic packaging film. These should be kept out of the reach
of children to avoid the danger of swallowing and choking or
suffocation.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
• To avoid any risk of injury when removing your old throttle
tube and fitting the new one, make sure that your motorcycle
cannot topple over and the place where you are doing this job
is well lit.
• You should only install the throttle tube yourself if you have
the necessary technical knowledge. Otherwise it is essential
to have this job done by a qualified motorcycle workshop.

IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage
• For safety reasons, unauthorised modifications and/or
changes to the product are not permitted.
• Always check that the throttle tube can turn freely and the grip
is securely fitted before setting off.
4 | Installation
4.1 | Preparation
Before starting work on your bike, find a suitable place where you can work
undisturbed and tidily. Set out your tools and the parts you need, place the
motorcycle safely on the stand and fully cover the bike tank with a cloth to
protect the paintwork.
Before fitting the throttle tube, check that it is compatible with the handlebar,
using a calliper gauge, for example. You must also check that the throttle tube
is suitable for the brake lever assembly – the collar and throttle cable retainer
must fit in the housing of the lever assembly, and the cable nipples must fit in the
retainer. To do these checks, you need to unscrew the housing of the twistgrip
and carefully measure and inspect the original throttle tube.
For the metric or double-butted version of the throttle tube (Order no.
10041380), there are three different adapters for finding a suitable
version.
