Before the First Use
Before the First Use
1.
Carefully unpack the slow cooker and remove all parts and packaging from the
box. There should be 3 lid rests, 3 glass lids, 3 ceramic crocks, the base, and the
Instruction Manual.
2.
Place the slow cooker on a level surface. Make sure the slow cooker base is at least
4 inches away from any cabinets, walls, or other objects on all sides.
3.
Clean all parts of the slow cooker with a damp cloth or sponge, and then dry
with another cloth. This will ensure there is no dust that may have settled during
packaging.
4.
Place the ceramic crocks in the base. Insert the lid rests into the holes on the base
behind each ceramic crock.
5.
It is essential to operate the slow cooker one time before cooking food in there. Pour
4 cups of water into each ceramic crock. Then place a lid on each ceramic crock.
6.
Plug the slow cooker into a 120V AC outlet. Turn each knob on the control panel to
HIGH and allow it to heat for about 30 minutes. There will be a slight odor which is
normal and will dissipate.
Turn each knob to the OFF position and unplug the unit.
7.
8.
Allow the unit to cool for at least 20 minutes. Use oven mitts to remove each lid,
carefully remove the ceramic crocks, and pour the water out.
9.
Wash all 3 ceramic cooking crocks and lids in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry.
10. Return the ceramic crocks and lids to the base for storage.
