THE ADVANTAGES OF THE ROCATEC
PROCEDURE:
Due to the high bond strength and the simple
framework design, new and enhanced methods
can be used for telescopic restorations.
Chrome Cobalt Appliances
Sections of chrome cobalt appliances can be
coated with ROCATEC and SINFONY pink opa-
quer to add denture acrylic without leaving gaps
around the metal/acrylic junctions.
This firm bond between the chrome cobalt
framework and acrylic saddle provides for
improved hygiene and enables the metal/acrylic
junctions of the denture to be cleaned perfectly.
Mounting Denture Teeth
To enhance the aesthetics and strengthen partial
and full dentures long-term, denture teeth should
be retained both mechanically and chemically.
No gaps form along the tooth/denture base
junctions.
Repairs
The ROCATEC-SYSTEM enables defective
facings to be replaced without having to remove
the denture saddle or damage intact facings.
This method is economical, time-saving and
creates a firm bond.

5.2 The ROCATEC-SYSTEM Working Stages

The following applies to all stages:
Never touch the metal framework with your
fingers while the surface is being coated.
Tweezers must be used for every single stage.
Only use the coating abrasive once as the
silicate components are used up during the
first application. If the abrasive is used again,
no chemical bond is created.
ROCATEC-PLUS must only be used in
ROCATEC equipment.
Do not use unfiltered compressed air to blast
off the remains of abrasive.
Do not blow off the remains of abrasive with
your breath.
The following stages must be carried out in
the correct order.
1. Sandblasting the Surface:
The metal surfaces should be cleaned by
sandblasting them with 110 micron corundum.
To achieve optimum bonding properties, it is
advisable to use ESPE ROCATEC
be applied with a microblaster, at a pressure of
2.8 bar. Each surface being faced should be
blasted for approximately 10 seconds. For other
indications, the surface should be blasted until
it is clean and uniform.
2. Coating the Surface:
The metal surfaces are coated with ROCATEC-
PLUS to apply a silicate bonding layer. ROCATEC-
PLUS must only be used in a ROCATEC JUNIOR.
The operating pressure is also 2.8 bar. Each
surface being faced should be blasted for
13 seconds. For other indications, the timing
should be adjusted as required. The nozzle must
be absolutely perpendicular to the metal surface
