5. Setting-Up The Flexel

5.1. Components inventory

Before setting up the system, check that
all components as listed below are present:
The Standard Palletank ® jacketed for
®
LevMixer or Standard Palletank
for LevMixer ® of the appropriate volume
including the two parts clamp holder, the
two parts insulated lid for the Palletank
jacketed, the integrated drive-bag interface,
the O'ring and the centering aligner, the
superconducting drive unit, the magnetic
charger and the corresponding test impeller
(Please check the compatibility as described
in 4.3), the magnetic clamp, the Flexel
for LevMixer ® of the appropriate volume.

5.2. Charging the superconductors

Before plugging in the machine, follow the
steps below:
A. Position the LevMixer ® drive unit next to
the processing area and make sure the elec-
tric flex has enough length to allow its
movement as required as the electrical power
will remain connected.
B. If the LevMixer ® drive unit is transported
or stored in colder temperatures than the
operating environment it is necessary to wait
2 hours to equalize the internal tempera-
tures of the drive unit before turning it on.
C. Ensure that the adjustable speed drive
toggle switch is in the OFF (down) position
and the RPM control knob is turned to zero
(0) and remains in this position until charg-
ing is complete.
D. Remove protective shield from magnetic
charger (See Fig. 12) and place magnetic
charger with bearing in the receiving cavity
on the levitation head (See Fig. 13).

E. Connect the LevMixer
standard power source (See Fig. 14).

F. Lift the clear plastic shield over the red
main power button, and push the button IN
so that it is illuminated (See Fig. 15). Ensure
that electrical power remains connected to
the machine even after charging is complete.
To prevent accidental shut-off of the drive
unit, keep the clear plastic shroud down to
cover the main power button.

Cautions:
Use only the magnetic charger provided in
the kit.
G. During the superconductors charging,
you can carry out the preparation of the
Palletank ® for LevMixer
the Flexel ® Bag for LevMixer
sections 5.4. and 5.5.
H. After the LevMixer
for 45 minutes, lift the magnetic charger and
replace the protective shield on the magnetic
charger (See Fig. 16 A & 16 B).

Cautions:
Always put the protective shield back on the
magnetic charger when charging procedure
is complete.
Be careful not to get your fingers trapped
when replacing the protective shield on the
magnetic charger.
Be careful not to assemble the test impeller
with the magnetic charger.
I. Remove the protective shield from the test
impeller and place the test impeller on the
levitation head (See Fig. 17). Refer to section
4.3.2 to select the appropriate test impeller
® and installation of to be used. At this point it should levitate
® . Please refer to freely above the surface of the levitation
head. This will indicate that the machine is
ready for operation

If the test impeller does not levitate or
substantial wobbling takes place (more
than 1mm change in gap) the system
must be reset. Turn the system off for
25 minutes and repeat set up procedure.
