protection system, a maximum of 3 people can be attached to the
system at the same time and the minimum spacing should be at least
5m. During the first few metres of ascent (<3m from the floor or
platform), please take extra care as protection against impact will not
be guaranteed. The clearance beneath the user must be > 3 m! When
working above structures, always ensure there is plenty of space
under the user's feet at all times. The system should only ever be
used in accordance with the established conditions of use and for the
intended purpose. Activating the release function of the runner or
fiddling with the runner during ascent or descent may hinder the safe
functioning of the brake mechanism and is therefore not permitted.
Warning! Danger to life: No objects, such as tool bags, are permitted
to hang in front of the body under the runner.
7.) Maintenance
• Well-maintained protective equipment and safety systems last
longer!
• When not in use, remove the runners from the climbing protection
system.
• Dirty runners should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Other
detergents should not be used.
• Air-dry damp runners; do not use a heat source.
• Do not bring the runners into contact with aggressive substances
(e.g. oil, grease, acid, solvents or other chemicals)
• Do not use grease, regularly and lightly oil the bronze bearings
(axle and guide). Diagram 8.
8.) Storage
Dry the runners and store securely, away from heat, light and
contaminants. Transport in a tool box or bag.
9.) Repairs
Repairs should only be undertaken by the manufacturer. Safety
systems, devices or protective equipment that have been damaged or
involved in a fall should be taken out of use immediately and checked
by an expert or by the manufacturer.
10.) Operating instructions and training
For the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) against falls, the
operator must produce operating instructions containing all the
necessary information for the safe use of the equipment, in particular
the dangers corresponding to the hazard labelling, conduct when
using the PPE and what to do if any defects are identified. There must
be a rescue plan taking into account any potential emergency
situations that may occur during the work. Users of PPE must be
trained in using the equipment. Training must be provided at least
once a year, or more frequently if required. The company to which the
