Increased bearing noise and unusual vibrations are a sign of bearing
wear. The bearing or motor must then be replaced.
At motor powers ≥ 11 kW, the module has a built-in speed-controlled
fan for cooling, which switches on automatically as soon as the heat
sink reaches 60 °C. The fan draws in air from the outside, which is
guided over the outer surface of the dissipator. It only runs when the
module is operated under load. Depending on the current ambient
conditions, dust is also sucked in by the fan, which can accumulate in
the dissipator. This must be checked at regular intervals and the fan
and the dissipator need to be cleaned, if necessary.
The drive may only be replaced by Salmson customer service.
