8 Installing the control element
(accessory)
A number of different control elements are available, depending on your
requirements.
When selecting the installation location, observe the following
instructions:
Make sure the driver does not have to reach through the steering wheel
to use the control element.
Install the control element
– somewhere it can be safely used at all times
– on the dashboard or centre panel.
Caution
Before you drill holes, make sure the bit will not damage anything
on the other side (2, page 4).
➤ Select a suitable installation location (6, page 5).
➤ Drill a 6 mm hole near the control element.
➤ Push the cable of the control element through the hole to the wiring
harness of the speed regulator.
➤ Plug the connection cable of the control element into the compact plug.
➤ Plug the connection cable of the control element into the 8-pin housing.
➤ Plug the assembled 8-pin compact plug of the control element into the
8-pin socket on the main wiring harness.
Infrared control module and steering column control module
Both the infrared and the steering column control module are supplied with
their own installation manual.
➤ Read the instructions carefully before installation.
