5. Insulate properly against bad weather all the
piping installed outside. Insulate the piping
passages of a non-conditioned room and use a
vapor barrier conforming to the last edition of
the code and minimum standards for heating
and air conditioning systems of the National
Association of Air Conditioning and Metal Plate
Contractors (SMACNA) and of the Contractors
of Air Conditioned of America (ACCA). Fix all
the piping to the building structure.
6. All the openings in the building openings must
be active and sealed against bad weather and
vibrations, conforming to the local codes and
for the good practices of the building.
5th Step – Installation of the Outside Siphon
for the Condensate Draining
siphon connections for the unit condensate are
located at the rear and sides of the unit. The
discharge connections of the unit do not determine
the use of the siphon connections; any siphon
connection can be used either for horizontal as
for vertical connections.
In order to use the back siphon connection for an
installation with roof curb, reposition the factory-
installed top from the back connection to the side
connection. The condensate draining piping and
the piping to the outside siphon can be concluded
after the unit is positioned.

All units must have an outside siphon to drain
the condensate. Install a 100 mm depth siphon,
protected against ice. See
