1.3 Function
Both types of Spots are made of polyurethane (PUR) which has unique
flow and recover characteristics. Thereby they provide pressure relief or
can fill distal gaps in prosthetic sockets (if used for volume management).
2 Handling
2.1 Spots 616S134
Place the Spot in distal portion of socket. If you are using a socket with an
air expulsion valve in that area, a sheath or sock must be on the outside
of the Spot to allow air to flow through the valve.
2.2 Sticky Spots 616S132
Sticky Spots have an adhesive on one side and include an oversized ad-
hesive Lycra® cover. Simply clean the area for the Spot, remove backing,
and stick it in place. Cover with Lycra® cover to keep it in place. Can be
used in plastic applications and laminations.
INFORMATION
If used as fixed placement with sockets or orthoses proceed as follows:
a) Attach the spot at desired location on positive plaster model.
b) Pull plastic or laminate over it.
c) Replace with Sticky Spot for final fitting.
