Bending the lamination bar
To avoid a risk of breakage, do not bend or otherwise modify the insertion
zone on the bar. The allowable bending zone of the bar begins at the slotted
hole (see fig. 1, item 16, hatched area).
1) Clamp bending irons in a vice.
2) Bend the bar with bending irons, noting the allowable bending zone.
Bending the foot stirrup
To avoid a risk of breakage, do not bend or otherwise modify the zone up to
the point where the material tapers. The allowable bending zone of the foot
stirrup starts where the material tapers (see fig. 1, item 8, hatched area).
1) Clamp bending irons in a vice.
2) Bend the foot stirrup with bending irons starting where the material
tapers.
Laminating the orthosis
See the technical information for the C-Brace® orthotronic mobility system
for further processing details: 646T5325 (prepreg technique) and 646T5326
(lamination resin technique).
The blasted zone on the lamination bar and foot stirrup identifies the lamina
tion area to obtain a good form fit when laminating the orthosis. Laminate
the orthosis up to the insertion zone of the lamination bar and foot
stirrup (see fig. 1).
Required materials: 17LD1N=22 lamination dummy set, lamination dummy
cover, 17SF100=OS-22 foot stirrup, 17S100=LB-22-T lamination bar,
501S136=M6x1-2-1 flat head screws, 636K8 Plastaband, 743Y56=4 align
ment adapter
1) Mount the lamination bar on the lower section of the lamination dummy
with the two flat head screws using a T 30 Torx wrench.
2) Slide the lamination dummy cover onto the foot stirrup in order to press
the bearing bushing out of the foot stirrup.
3) Save the bearing bushing for later use.
4) Place the foot stirrup in the lamination dummy cover.
5) Set the cover onto the lower section of the lamination dummy and secure
it with the shoulder screw. Due to the design of the cover, it is brought to
the neutral position.
6) Attach the lamination dummy to the plaster model by inserting the
shoulder screw through the cover, foot stirrup and lower section and
screwing it to the alignment adapter with a T 30 Torx wrench.
7) Seal the screws of the bar and dummy with Plastaband.
8) Laminate the orthosis to fit the patient.
