6. Use of an overvoltage arrester
On request VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** can be connected to an overvoltage arrester type B 62-36 G.
For applications requiring instruments of category 1/2 G a VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** do not require
lightning protection measures acc. to the TRbF100 no. 8 paragr. 1 resp. EN 60079-14 chapter 12.3.
For applications requiring instruments of category 1 G acc. to TRbF100 no. 8 paragr. 1 resp.EN
60079-14 chapter 12.3 a suitable overvoltage arrester e.g. type B 62-36G should be connected.
7. VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** with antenna extension
VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** with antenna extension have to be mounted such that all risks by
pendulum or vibration of the extension are effectively eliminated under consideration of vessel
installations and flow conditions in the vessel.
8. VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** with ball valve fitting
When using VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** with ball valve fitting please make sure that the ball valve is
closed in front of the separation of the flange connection.
9. Grounding
VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** must be grounded.
10. Stroke and friction sparks
VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** (all versions with aluminium) have to be mounted in such a way that
sparks caused by sudden blows or friction (between aluminium and stainless steel, if rust particles
can be excluded) are avoided.
11. Chemical resistance
VEGAPULS PS6*.CX***H*** which are installed as category 1 G or ½ G instruments can only be
used in products against which the wetted materials are sufficiently resistant.
