Use
1)
Put on the helmet
: To ensure a perfect seal of the mask, your forehead
must be entirely bare. If necessary, smooth your hair back from your forehead.
Put on the full face mask: A beard or sideburns where the mask fits
against the face will cause leaks! The full face mask should not be used by
people with beards and sideburns. The bow of glasses under the mask
seal also causes leaks. A spectacle frame should be used in such cases.
Place the neck band around your neck. Loosen the chin strap of the hel-
met. Grip both tensioners and push the top edge of the full face mask
under the helmet against your forehead. Tighten both tensioners simultane-
ously by pulling them back at the same time, and then hook them in the ten-
sioner grips on both sides of the helmet. Straighten the mask, and fasten
the chin strap under your chin without overtightening it.
Checking: With the aid of an assistant, check
that the full face mask is correctly fitted. The
tensioners (1) must be tight. If not, adjust the
head netting in the helmet.
Check for leaks: Block the mask connector
and breathe in until negative pressure (suction) is generated. Hold your
breath for a moment. The suction must be maintained, and no air must
enter the mask from outside. Repeat this leak test twice.
Check the exhalation valve: Block the mask connector and exhale vigor-
ously. The exhaled air must be able to escape freely through the exhalation
valve. If not, see "Visual inspection of the exhalation valve".

apparatus or respiratory filter
.
Report to operation only with an airtight full face mask!
CAUTION! If a lamp holder is fitted to the helmet and you bump into an
obstacle, this may cause the mask to leak.
In this case, immediately leave the danger zone.
Use with respiratory filters
Preconditions: The ambient air must contain at least 17 Vol.% oxygen. Do
not enter unventilated containers, pits, drains etc. with filter apparatus. The
type of pollutant must be known, and the appropriate filter must be used.
Screw in the respiratory filter: Fully remove the sealing strips and screw
the filter in firmly clockwise.
Operating duration: The permitted period of use depends on various fac-
tors, including the type and concentration of pollutants and the type of filter.
Extreme operating conditions
In case of low temperatures: Treat the inside of the visor with the anti-
misting agent "klar-pilot" gel to prevent it from fogging up
In case of high temperatures: If the visor is damaged, leave the danger
zone immediately.
In case of chemicals: Some substances, e.g. H
absorbed by the material of the full face mask, especially silicon, and may
possibly diffuse into it.
In explosion-hazard areas: Treat the mask with antistatic spray or use a
water screen.
After use
Unscrew the demand valve or respiratory filter
1)
Dispose of the respiratory filter
Remove the full face mask: Pull both tensioners back and detach them
