Pump start-up

DANGER
Use the electric pump according to the performance specifications as stated on the data plate. Before using the pump, read
Application chapter for a proper use.
DANGER
Always avoid operation of the pump with the upline shutoff valve closed (suction side). Dry running of the pump can lead to
overhearing and damage to the pump itself.
DANGER
Never run the pump with the shutoff valve downline (delivery side) completely closed. In this case, the water in the system
reaches very high temperatures, with the risk of damage to equipment and scalding in the event of escape of the liquid. In
this situation, turn off the pump and leave the system to cool.
DANGER
Never use the pump in the event of cavitation, as this can cause damage to the hydraulic components.
DANGER
Pressure on the downline side of the pump (delivery side) must never exceed the maximum operating pressure PN as
indicated on the pump data plate (see "Application Limits" Figure 5). Pressure downline of the pump is obtained from the
sum of the pressure delivered and the pressure on the suction side (gravity for installations with negative suction head,
aqueducts, or water system where admissible or required).
1. Check that the shutoff valves
downline of the pump (delivery side)
and upline of the pump are in the
open position.
FLUSSCONTROL electronic device operation
A green Power on led is present on the front of the device to indicate the presence of power supply, in addition to a yellow Pump on led
to indicate that the pump is operating.
On connection to the electrical mains, the green and yellow leds turn on to indicate activation of the pump (fig. 7/A), which remains in
operation for a few seconds to enable pressurisation of the system.
If this time interval is insufficient, press and hold the red Restart button and wait for water to be delivered, with a utility open. On
closure of the utility, the device stops the pump and sets to standby, with the green indicator lit, ready for independent completion
of all subsequent command and control operations (fig. 7/B). On opening of a utility, the device starts up the pump, which remains in
operation as long as the utility remains open (fig. 7/A). On closure of the utility, the device restores maximum pressure in the system,
stops the pump and returns to standby status (fig. 7/B). If there is no water supply on intake, Flusscontrol stops the pump (fig. 7/C)
protecting it against dry running conditions. Once the cause of this flow failure has been eliminated, simply press the red Restart
button (reset) to restore normal operating conditions. In the event of a temporary power failure, the unit restarts automatically when
power is restored.
2. Start the pump.
3. If the pump does not start up
correctly, on reaching the operating
conditions in a short time, the pump
shuts down.
4. In this case repeat the "Pump priming"
phase.
