Choke lever.
The choke is used to provide proper fuel-air mixture for
starting the engine when cold. The choke lever is moved
manually to the appropriate position. Move the choke
lever to CHOKE position to enrich the mixture for cold
starting. Move the choke lever to the RUN position after
the engine has warmed up or the engine begins to run
irregularly. To re-start a warm engine, the choke lever
may be left in the RUN position.
Ecothrottle™ switch
The Ecothrottle automatically reduces the engine to low RPM's when the attached tool(s) are not
operating. When a tool is operated, the engine speed increases to provide the proper speed to power
the tool(s). The Ecothrottle™ switch for the SPU16 is located behind the maintenance cover. See
product ID, section 6.1.
ON: Press switch (C) to position (B). The
Ecothrottle is activated and will increase the
engine speed when a tool is used. When a
tool is not in use, the Ecothrottle reduces the
engine speed to low RPM and lower noise
levels and fuel consumption.
OFF: Press the switch (C) to position (A). The
Ecothrottle does not operate and the engine
speed remains at the maximum.
Pressure bypass valve
If it is not possible to disconnect the hydraulic hose from the pump when the attached tool is in the
neutral position, the pressure can be released using the bypass valve (A) located near each Core™
female coupler (B) on the pump.
Turn the engine off.
Turn screw (A) on the bypass valve clockwise
to the OPEN position until it stops. This will
release the pressure.
Disconnect the affected hose(s) from the pump.
Turn the screw (A) counterclockwise to the
CLOSED position.
