FUEL AND OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Fuel
Use only dean, fresh, unleaded regular grade
gasoline.

O_lane Rating
The octane rating of a gasoline is a measure of
its fesL_tance to =knocking'. Use a min_um
of 87
octane bythe antiknock index is recommended. The
antm_nock index is posted on servi_e station pumps
in the U,S,A.
NOTE
0 ff %'zoGk_g or pinging'oGGum, use a different
brand of gasoline or higher ocfane rating.
Oxygenated Fuel
Oxygenates (eitherethanolor MTBE) are added
to thegasoline, if you use the oxygenated fuel be
sure it is unleadedand meetsthe minimum octane
ratingrequirement,
The following are the EPAapprovedpercentages
o1: _ el oxygenates,
ETHANOL: (Ethyl or Grain Alcohol)
You may use gasoline containing up to 10%
ethanol by volume.
MTBE: (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether)
You may usegasoline containingup to 15% MTBE
by volume.
METHANOL: (Methyl or Wood Alcohol)
YOu may use gasolir_ containing up to 5%
methanol by volume, as long as it also contains
cosolvents and corrosion inhtbitorsto pmtecl the
fuel system.
Gasoline containing more than 5%
methanol by volume may cause starting and/or
performance problems,
It may also damage
metal, rubber, and plasti_ parts of your fuel sys-
tern.
