Correct position
for taking readings
1. Push the end piece of the air tube into the hole on the unit
use. The blood pressure monitor is intended for use as a table-top unit.
2. Thread the end of the cuff
buckle so that the cuff takes on a cylindrical shape (a).
Ensure that the cuff itself is not twisted in any way.
3. Place the cuff around your left upper arm (b). Position the red arterial area
in the centre of your arm as an extension of the middle finger (c). Please
ensure that the cuff buckle is not positioned directly over the artery, as this
can result in an incorrect blood pressure reading. Tighten the cuff to create
a snug fit.
4. Place your arm on the table with the palm uppermost. If wearing tight
clothing, ensure that the circulation in the arm is not impaired when rolling
up the sleeve. The lower edge of the cuff should be 2 -3 cm above the
crease of the elbow (d).

5. If the "INDEX" arrow lies within the area on the edge of the cuff marked
"OK", the cuff
is ready for use. If the "INDEX" arrow is not within the
"OK" area, you need a special cuff (MEDISANA Art.–Nr. 51007). Avoid
creating a space between arm and cuff. It may falsify the measured result.
6. Only position the cuff on the right arm if it cannot be used on the left arm.
Always carry out measurements on the same arm.
• Carry out the measurement whilst seated.
• Relax your arm and place it comfortably, on a table for instance. Keep still
during the measurement: do not move and do not talk as this may alter
the measurements.
