Care and maintenance
Cleaning:
If required clean the outside of the HGDS−... using a soft cloth.

Permissible cleaning agents include:
Soap suds (max. 60°C)
Petroleum ether
Any mild detergent
If required lubricate the following elements:

The guide elements of the HGDS−... after 10 million switching cycles
The area of the impact surface of the shock absorber (to reduce roll−off
resistance) at the stop cam.
See the section 'Accessories' for permissible greases. Relubrication is not
required in normal industrial environments.

Disassembly
Ensure that the gripper is not retaining a load at the moment of venting.

This will prevent hanging loads from falling down.
To replace the shock absorbers:
1. Vent the HGDS−... .
2. Remove the protective cover (see the section 'Installing the mechanical
system').
3. Loosen the locking screw in the clamping component of the cushioning
element as shown in Figure 15 (do not unscrew the locking screw and clamping
component).
4. Unscrew the cushioning element with the integrated shock absorber in a
clockwise direction.
5. Assemble the cushioning element from the repair kit in reverse order
(see the section 'Commissioning' for the locking screw tightening torque).
6. Assemble the protective cover.
7. Complete the recommissioning process as described in the section
'Commissioning'.
