1. Make sure the power switch is turned off on the computer where you will be
installing the TT8500.
2. Plug the 15-pin connector (HDB15) of the power cord adapter into the under-
side of the TT8500.
3. Plug the female connector of the AC power supply cable into the socket on
the back of the 9-pin serial cable connector (DB9).
4. Plug the AC power supply into a power outlet.
5. Plug the RJ45 ethernet connector into the back of the TT8500.
6. Plug the other RJ45 ethernet connector into your ethernet outlet.
7. See the TCP/IP settings in the Setup Menu.

Using the Transaction Team 8500 Setup and Test Menus

You can configure the TT8500 by touching controls on the LCD screen.
When you power up the TT8500, the message, Touch the Pad Now to Enter
Setup appears on the screen for a few seconds. Touching the screen within this
time displays the Setup Menu. This Setup menu allows you to personalize the
available settings. If you do not touch the screen, the message disappears and
the terminal goes to its default settings or previously set configuration.
