Software Development Kit

Hand Held Products offers documents and software designed to assist software
application developers. The Transaction Team 8500 SDK allows developers to
conveniently integrate signature transaction, credit, debit, surveys, and graphical
advertisement capabilities into their applications.
To download a copy of the SDK and/or the associated documentation, go to
www.handheld.com. Click on Services & Support and click on
Resource Area and select the TT8500 product line.
Install Software Development Kit
This option provides an SDK for use with the TT8500. The SDK provides a
software tool (TTAdvantage88) to be used in conjunction with the appropriate
software compiler or integrated development environment that enables you to
develop your own software applications for use with the TT8500.
To install the SDK, turn on your computer and run the setup program using the
following procedure:
1. Extract all the TT8500 SDK install files from the zip file you downloaded.
2. Double click on the setup.exe file. The main TT8500 SDK setup program
appears.
3. Select SDK installation option. The SDK setup program appears.
4. Follow the menu steps until completion is indicated.
NOTE: In order for you to develop your own applications, the appropriate
software compiler (Microsoft C/C++) or Integrated Development
Environment (Visual Basic, Visual C++, etc.) is required. This compiler is
NOT provided in the TT8500 SDK.

Summary of SDK Components

TTAdvantage88
TTAdvantage88 is a Visual Basic Add-In tool that is used to develop a script
application that resides and executes on the TT8500. TTAdvantage88 can also
be used to develop a VB mode application to reside and execute on your host
system. Visual Basic 6.0 is required to use this tool.
Functions
• Tools for integrating command buttons, signature capture boxes,
graphics, MSR data capture, text boxes, list boxes, option buttons, labels,
and check boxes onto TT8500 terminal screens.
