compatible, the load limit shall be that of the
lowest-WLL component in the fall-arrest system.
"DANGER": Any other combination in use
is dangerous and prohibited.
5. Installation
5.1 Verifications prior to installation
Before installing anything, the installer should
have a copy of the current manual and be as-
sured via appropriate means that the host struc-
ture is compatible with the envisaged use of the
Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring device.
®
In particular, before any installation, check that:
1. The fall-prevention anchoring device is lo-
cated above the level on which the operator
moves around.
2. For installation onto a post or plate: the post
or plate bears the Tractel
chanical resistance is compatible with the
Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring device.
®
3. The installer possesses the necessary tools
for installing the Tractel
particularly:
• A 19mm box spanner.
• A torque wrench with a 19mm socket.
• A set of spanners from 10mm to 24mm.
The tools necessary for fixing anchors
onto concrete or steel are specified in the
manufacturer's installation manual, section
on attachment methods (anchor plugs, bolts,
etc.).
4. The anchoring device marking is present and
legible.
5. None of the parts comprising the Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring device bear signs of
significant deformation and/or corrosion.
6. The zone has an access point from which the
operator can safely connect to the anchoring
device.

5.2. Installation
The following installation procedure refers to
figures 2 and 3.
Tractel
fall-prevention anchoring devices may
®
be installed on different types of host structure:
• travsafe™ PA:
May be installed on a concrete (or similar)
host structure (label 16) using two chemical
or mechanical anchor plugs, or on a metal
structure (label 8) using two bolts (label 9,
10, 11) which are not supplied with the an-
choring device.
• travsafe™ PAS and travsafe™ ringsafe
May be installed on a concrete (or similar)
host structure (label 16) using one chemical
or mechanical anchor plug, or on a metal
structure (label 8) using one bolt (label 9,
10, 11); these are not supplied with the an-
choring device.
• Travflex™ ringflex
Must be installed on a plate-type host struc-
ture made of stainless or galvanised steel
(label 8), 3 +/-0.3 mm thick and with a hole
through it measuring 17+/-0.2 mm. Installa-
tion is aided by a nut and a dedicated wash-
er (label 6, 7) which are supplied with the
anchoring device.
• travsafe™ PO
Must be installed on a steel plate-type struc-
ture (label 8) at least 12 mm thick, featuring
a tapped-thread M12 hole (label 7).
"DANGER": Each attachment must have
minimum tensile strength of 1,150 daN and min-
imum diameter 12 mm.
"DANGER": All M12 attachment screws,
nuts and bolts are required to be tightened to a

torque of 3+/- 0.5 daN.m.
