CONNECTION AND PREPARATION OF EQUIPMENT
FOR GAS TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING (TIG).
• TURN OFF WELDER BEFORE MAKING CONNECTIONS.
Connect welding accessories securely to avoid power loss or
leakage of dangerous gases. Carefully follow the safety pre-
cautions described in section 1.0.
1.
Fit the required electrode and nozzle to the electrode holder
(Check the protrusion and state of the electrode tip).
2.
Connect the ground cable quick connection to the positive (+)
receptacle and the clamp near the welding zone.
3.
Connect the electrode torch power cable connector to the
negative quick-connection terminal (-) and the torch push
button connector to the corresponding socket (Rif.10 - Pic. 1
page 4.) .
CAUTION: THE EARTH CABLE CONNECTOR AND THE
TORCH POWER CABLE CONNECTED AS ABOVE WILL RE-
SULT IN STRAIGHT POLARITY WELDING. THIS GENERATOR
IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GTAW (TIG) WELDING WITH RE-
VERSE POLARITY.
4.
Insert the cylinder gas pipe into this fitting (Rif.12 - Pic. 2
page 4.) and secure with a hose clamp.
5.
Connect the torch gas pipe to the gas outlet fitting (Rif.9 - Pic.
1 page 4.) (Front panel).
6.
Press the illuminated switch to turn on the power source
(Rif.1 - Pic. 2 page 4.) .
7.
Select the wants modality (Rif.5, 5.1 - Pic. 1 page 4.) .
8.
Check that there are no gas leaks.
9.
Adjust welding current with amperes selector (Rif.3 - Pic. 1
page 4.) .
2.5
MANUAL GTAW (TIG) WELDING.
For manual TIG welding, set the welding mode selector (Rif.5.1 -
Pic. 1 page 4.) to position:
Adjust the slope down duration with the time/slope down potenti-
ometer (Rif.6 - Pic. 1 page 4.)
2.6
AUTOMATIC GTAW (TIG) WELDING.
For automatic TIG welding, set the welding mode selector (Rif.5.1
- Pic. 1 page 4.) to position:
Adjust the slope down duration by means of the time/slope down
potentiometer (Rif.6 - Pic. 1 page 4.) .
