7 Operation
NOTICE
• Always ensure that the protective cap and all wear parts are clean and securely attached.
• The manual cutting torch's wear parts are identical to those of the machine cutting torch.
• The plasma cutting torches are equipped with a safety shut-off mechanism for the
operator's protection. This automatically interrupts the inrush current circuit if the protective
cap is removed. Two spring-mounted contact pins are actuated when the protective cap is
screwed on. If the spring effect of the contact pins is impeded, the safety shut-off
mechanism can become ineffective. Ensure that all contact surfaces between the spring-
mounted contact pins and the contact ring on the protective cap are kept clean.
WARNING
Risk of injury and device damage as a result of improper operation
Non-observance can result in injuries and device damage.
• In the case of a split protective cap, the cap body and spatter protector make up one
functional unit. For safety reasons, the plasma cutting torch equipped with the cap body
must not be used without a spatter protector.
• When replacing wear parts, always switch off the plasma power source.
