Troubleshooting
BAL.0099 • 2018-11-08
Cause
• Pressure drop during cutting
• Cutting rate too high
• Tilt angle of the torch too great
• Material thickness too high
• Equipment parts worn or damaged • Replace the equipment parts
• Output not adjusted
• Cutting rate too low
• Torch clearance too great
• Material thickness too high
• Output too low
• Cutting rate too low or too high
• Equipment parts worn or damaged • Replace the equipment parts
• Output not adjusted
• Contact with the workpiece
• Start of cut at the edge of the
workpiece too fast
• Too much spatter when punching
holes
• Pilot arc struck too long and too
frequently in the air
• Pilot arc too strong (depends on
the power source)
10 Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
• Reset the pressure monitor
• Reduce the cutting rate
• Reduce the tilt angle
• Use a lower material thickness
• Adjust the output
• Increase the cutting rate
• Reduce the torch clearance
• Use a lower material thickness
• Adjust the output
• Adjust the cutting rate
• Adjust the output
• Hand-tighten the nozzle or
protective cap. Replace the
nozzle if necessary
• Avoid contact
• Start cutting at a lower rate
• Shorten/avoid ignitions in the air
