Before you begin
Site location is important for the proper operation of the Avaya Secure Router 2330/4134.
Ensure the area where you install and use the Secure Router 2330/4134 meets the following
environmental requirements:
• Ambient temperature between 32 and 104 F (0 and 40 C)
• Noncondensing relative humidity
- between 0% and 95% for the Secure Router 2330
- between 0% and 90% for the Secure Router 4134
• No nearby heat sources such as hot air vents or direct sunlight
• No nearby sources of severe electromagnetic noise
• No excessive dust
• Adequate power source within six feet; one circuit required for each power supply (see
table, AC and DC power specifications)
• At least 2 inches (5.08 cm) on each side of the switch unit for ventilation
• Between 2 to 3 feet (ft) (0.61 to 0.91 meters [m]) of additional clearance around the Secure
Router 2330 for access to the cable connectors on the front and front panels
Installing the Secure Router 2330/4134 on a table or shelf
You can install a single Secure Router 4134 on any flat surface that can safely support the
weight of the router with interface modules, one (non-PoE) power supply, and fan tray installed
(25 pounds or 11.34 kilograms).
You can install a single Secure Router 2330 on any flat surface that can safely support the
weight of the router with interface modules installed (8.5 pounds or 3.85 kilograms).
Follow these steps to install the Secure Router 2330/4134 on a table of shelf:
1. Attach rubber feet to each of the four corners on the bottom of the chassis.
2. Set the router on a table or shelf.
