Lower leg rest adjustment

The bed is equipped with an adjustable leg rest for the lower legs. This part may be placed in several
positions by bringing it manually in the wanted position. By bringing the leg rest entirely electric down, the
next time the fowler (sloping) position will be taken automatically. Exception on this is the horizontal position:
this remains until the part for the lower legs is further pulled upwards resulting back to fowler position.

Maintenance instructions

8.1

Control and maintenance

To avoid any accidents and to increase the life-span of the Thuasne bed, a thorough check procedure
should be conducted at least once a year or each time the bed is re-installed (consult local legislation, which
may impose controls).
For this purpose, use the enclosed protocol. The check procedures described must be carried out only by
suitably specialised personnel who have received corresponding training or else under their supervision.
If, when carrying out the afore-mentioned tasks, you have the slightest doubt concerning
the safety or correct function of just one section of the bed, you must not, under any
circumstances, use it. Contact your supplier or the manufacturer.
The following tasks must be carried out in all cases :
8.2

General condition of the framework

Good general condition of the framework : Check that the platform, head and foot, backrest, seat, foot rest,
bracket and castors are not twisted.
The following tests must always be carried out :
• Do all the mobile parts move easily ?
• Are there any parts that hang loosely or rattle when the bed is moved ?
• Are there any scraping or grinding noises when the bed is moved ?
• Are there any rusted parts ?
• Are all the motor supports intact and free of any other visible signs of deterioration ?
• Can the bed base be adjusted at all angles and in all positions ? Measure it !
• Can the minimal and maximum heights of the bed base be reached ? Measure it !
• Place the bed rest in its lowest position, load it evenly with the maximum weight and place it in its highest
position. Calculate the length of time needed by the motors at the head and foot of the bed to reach this
position. The difference must not exceed 3 seconds.
8.3

Side rails

• Check that these have not been altered. Check that the locking system is working properly. There must not
be a gap of more than 10 mm.
• The deviation between two tubes (PARIS) or two plates (MILANO) must not have changed and must be
less than 120 mm. The rails must function easily without any significant friction or slackness.
8.4

Brakes

• Check that the brakes and the locking system are working properly. The wheels must turn freely when the
brakes are unlocked.
8.5

Actuators

• Check that their range is complete (400 mm in the up/down direction, 110 mm for the back rest, 39 mm for
the foot rest).
• Check the noise level (which must be less than 65 dB), speed and resistance.
• Each actuator must stop at the end of its range and must not exceed the last notch.
• When bringing high the bed the maximum secondary intensity value must be less than 1,7 A.
