- OPERATING THE TOOL

5.1 Operating instructions

Put on the personal protective equipment shown in figure (C) and make sure all safety systems and protective devices are
correctly installed and fully operative.
WARNING!
Turn on the tool only after it has been placed between the branches. Erroneous use will cause the tool to wear
down prematurely and excessive air consumption.
Do not use the tool without the link protection (11).
Do not idle the rakes (2); they may be seriously damaged.
Use the tool for the aims described in "Description of the product" only. Any other kind of use may cause
injuries.
After firmly grasping the handle with both hands, proceed as directed below:
a)
Carefully place a branch between the rakers (2) of the beating rake. Press the control lever (24), that operates the tool, by
hand. Comb the branch from top to bottom. The olives or coffee beans will come off the branch.
b)
After all the olives or coffee beans have come off the branch, release the control lever (24) to stop the beating rake.
Repeat the operation from step a).

5.2 Troubleshooting

WARNING!
All the maintenance operations have to be performed by a mechanic.
FAULT
Rake (2) does not work.
Rake (2) has no power.
Air escapes when the control lever (24)
is pressed.
Rake (2) works too slowly or jams.
Rakes (2) stall.
NOTE
If the above remedies do not solve the problem, contact an authorised service center.
CAUSE
a) Air flow regulator on compressor
closed.
b) Air hose clogged.
a) Supply hose dirty.
b) Compressor pressure too low.
c) Piston (14) not lubricated.
a) Valve (28) seal worn or ruined.
a) Joints (6) not lubricated.
a) Piston (30) and pad (31) worn down.
REMEDY
a) Set the air flow regulator to 8 bar.
b) Detach the air hose and make sure
the fittings are in perfect condition and
clean inside.
a) Detach the supply hose and blow in
compressed air to remove any dirt
present.
b) Make sure the compressor reaches 8
bar.
c) Check the oil level in the compressor
lubricator.
a) Take off the valve (25) on the handle
and replace the seals (28) even if only
slightly worn.
a) Lubricate joints and check lubrication
of the links (6).
a) Check wear and tear of the piston, pad
and seals.
