to 8 lpm (Figure I.3). Excellent for use in the home, extended care facility, hospital or physician's
waiting room.
FLOWMETER
Pediatric/Low Flow Application
The p ediatric fl owmeter ( available f or u se w ith t he d ual fl ow N ewLife
requirements up to 2 lpm in 1/8 liter (125 ccm) increments.
Setting the Pediatric Flowmeter
When u sing a p ediatric fl owmeter, t he u nit w ill n ot r each c oncentration a t t he p ediatric s etting ( less t han
2 lpm) u ntil a p ortion o f t he o xygen i s b led o ff b y o pening t he p rimary fl owmeter ( on t he l eft s ide o f t he u nit).
Follow t he p rocedure b elow w hen u sing t he p ediatric fl owmeter.
1. Follow the start-up instructions.
2. Set t he p ediatric fl owmeter t o t he p rescribed fl ow.
3. Set t he p rimary fl owmeter t o 2 l pm to bleed off excess product, and allow the unit to
achieve maximum concentration.
