2.3 Manufacture, packaging, transport, storage and identification
2.3.1 Manufacture
(1) Manufacture must be according to Annex 4 Section 1.
(2) The containers must only be manufactured in the Schnelldorf factory.
2.3.2 Packaging, transport and storage
Packaging, transport and storage must be in accordance with Annex 4, section 2.
2.3.3 Identification
(1) The manufacturer shall identify the containers by applying the German mark of
conformity in accordance with the relevant regulations of the German states. They may only
be marked in this way if the requirements set out in section 2.4 have been satisfied.
(2) Moreover, the manufacturer must mark the containers clearly and permanently with the
following details:
- Production number
- Year of manufacture
- Volume in litres at the approved fill-level (pursuant to Section 5.1.2)
- Approved operating temperature
- The fill level corresponding to the approved fill degree (see Section 5.1.3) must be marked
on the fill-level indicator (fill level mark – maximum)
- Instruction for non-pressurised operation
- "Only for storing substances pursuant to National Technical Approval No. Z-40.11-280".
(3) The manufacturer must mark the connections for the leak indicator clearly and
permanently with "suction connection" and/or "measurement connection".
(4) See section 5.1.5.1 for marking of the containers by the operator.
2.4 Certificate of conformity 2.4.1 General
(1) Certification that the containers conform to the provisions of this national technical
approval must be carried out for the manufacturing site by means of a certificate of conformity
based on in-house production monitoring, as well as external monitoring on a regular basis,
including an initial inspection of the containers pursuant to the following provisions.
(2) To obtain the certificate of conformity and the external monitoring, as well as associated
product inspections, the manufacturer of the containers must make arrangements with a
certification agency and a monitoring agency recognised for this purpose.
(3) The manufacturer shall label the constructed products with the German mark of
conformity, specifying their use, as a declaration that a certificate of conformity has been
issued.
(4) A copy of the certificate of conformity granted by the certification agency shall be
submitted to the DIBt. A copy of the initial inspection report shall also be submitted to the
DIBt.
