Use the blower checking that the operating parameters correspond to the values stated in the CHARACTERISTIC DATA table.
Absolutely do not allow the unit to be started and operated with the suction and/or delivery openings blocked, even if only temporarily.
Install a safety valve or equivalent circuit which can prevent excessive vacuum and/or overpressure and allow compliance with the
values stated in the "CHARACTERISTIC DATA" table of this manual.
If the impeller produces unusual noise, switch off the unit immediately! Then schedule the relevant maintenance work.
• The machine must be started and operated only under the following conditions:
The unit must be completely installed and intact, in other words undamaged and not altered in any way.
The silencers must be properly connected to the piping of the plant.
The machine must be firmly fixed in its permanent location.
The motor must be connected to a suitable control panel.
When running the machinery in conformity with values stated in the "CHARACTERISTIC DATA" table, the surfaces of the
compressors and suction pumps can reach high temperatures.
Wear suitable PPE against burns. (See also: residual risks section.)
7.2.2

BREAKDOWN AND MAINTENANCE

• Before staring any routine maintenance or breakdown repair work on the unit take the following safety precautions:
Cut off the unit from the mains at the master switch.
Attach a sign to the controls of the plant and the unit with the wording: "DANGER! Maintenance work in progress!"
Allow the unit to cool down!
Wait for the unit to stop completely, i.e. the impeller has stopped rotating.
Make sure that there is no pressure or vacuum in the unit and the parts to be disconnected, and that no liquid is able to escape from
the unit and/or the plant!
Follow the maintenance instructions in this manual.
Improper conduct may cause serious injury and even death!
Work on electrical equipment must be done exclusively by authorised qualified electricians!
Before starting work on the unit or plant, it is necessary to take the following precautions:
-
cut off electrical power at the mains.
-
take precautions to prevent electricity from being reconnected;
-
open the terminal box only after making sure that there is no electrical voltage!
When housings or blind flanges have been removed, it is possible to gain access to the impeller through openings in the machine body
and casing, even if it is in function and rotating!
Never insert your hands or any objects through these openings!
7.3

RESIDUAL RISKS

When designing machines or systems into which the blower is to be installed, the following residual risks have to be taken into account.
In operating conditions burns may be caused by contact with the unit.
Protection measures:
Provide the unit with adequate protection against the risk of contact with hot surfaces.
Before starting any work after switching off allow the unit to cool down!
During operation the compressors and suction pumps produce a noise level that can exceed 80 dB(A)!
Reference values are shown in the CHARACTERISTIC DATA tables. Please note that the environment could reverberate, therefore it
is advisable to measure the acoustic pressure at various points.
Precautions:

Danger resulting from the impeller seizing up due to over-performance!
Danger due to burns caused by contact with the hot surfaces of the unit!
Danger due to electricity!
Danger due to rotating impellers: cutting or crushing of limbs!
Danger due to hot surfaces!
Danger due to noise produced by the unit!
