site of the tent tunnel than at the other side). This is done by not gripping the free lying
pole part, but gripping it a little further back (where the pole is inserted in the tunnel).
➢ Please note: Never pull on the pole set. It doesn't matter if the pole set does not sit entirely
over the pin. (If the pole set is too far from the pin, move (from the centre) the entire tent
a little closer in the direction of the anchor.
• Then, in the correct order, place the next two pole sets on to the corresponding pins.
c. Repeat on the opposite anchor. The person on the inside now also picks up the poles sets behind
the anchor and gives them in the right order to the other person, who positions the poles onto
the right pins. Sometimes the poles do not sit completely on the pin. This is not a problem and
will be addressed in Step 5e. But again, never pull on the tent poles, because they can come
apart. If you think you have too much space on the pins, you can slide the entire tent closer to
the anchor.
d. Repeat all this for the other head-section of the tent (which is still lying on the ground).
e. In 5b and 5c, we mentioned that it can happen that the poles do not completely cover the pins.
We can now rectify this.
• One person lifts, from the middle, the entire head-section of the tent to its maximum height
(you can use the rope to help). Meanwhile the other person guides the metal sleeves of the
poles over the pins. Note: do not pull them to it, but always guide them over it.
• At the same time both people will shake (with little force) the head-section of the tent so
that the tent tunnels are well distributed over the tent poles and that there are no folds in
the tent tunnels itself.
• Then, lower this head-section of the SunnyTent gently onto the ground and do the same at
the other head-section.
Step 6: Partial fixing of the head-sections of the SunnyTent
The 2 opposite head-sections of the SunnyTent are still lying on the ground. The bottom tent tunnel
of both sections need now to be secured to the ground. The 6 twist pegs will be used to do this, 3
pegs at each end, 1 peg for each opening.
a. Choose the head-section where you will begin. One person lifts the head-section of the tent
from the middle until the top tunnel reaches its maximum height. The other person remains
at the center of the bottom tunnel. Together they will shake the tent, so that the canvas
distributes well over the poles and falls into its natural form.
b. The person at the bottom tunnel then places a
twist peg at the middle opening of the tent tunnel,
on the outside of the tent, tight against the tent
pole. To do this, push the tent pole slightly away
from you to allow a small gap to twist in the peg.
Twist the peg into the ground until there is space
of approximately 1½ cm. left between the handle
and the ground, while this handle is positioned
perpendicular to the tent pole. Then allow the tent pole to naturally come back to position and
secure it under the twist peg handle, therefore, securing the tent. See photo for end result.
Beware:
➢ It may happen that a twist peg does not fit perfectly (which causes the tent pole not to be
