Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.
Saw applying only low feed. Orbital action and stroke ensure
sufficient working process.
Check wood, press boards, building materials, etc. for foreign
objects such as nails, screws or similar, and remove them, if
required.
Contact Protector
The contact protector 4 attached to the casing prevents acci-
dental touching of the saw blade during the working proce-
dure and may not be removed.
Parallel Guide with Circle Cutter (Accessory)
For cuts using the parallel guide with circle cutter 23 (acces-
sory), the thickness of the material must not exceed a maxi-
mum of 30 mm.
– Parallel Cuts (see figure I): Loosen the locking screw 24
and slide the scale of the parallel guide through the lead 25
in the base plate. Set the desired cutting width as the scale
value on the inside edge of the base plate. Tighten the lock-
ing screw 24.
– Circular Cuts (see figure J): Set the locking screw 24 to the
other side of the parallel guide. Slide the scale of the paral-
lel guide through the lead 25 in the base plate. Drill a hole
in the workpiece centred in the section to be sawn. Insert
the centring tip 26 through the inside opening of the paral-
lel guide and into the drilled hole. Set the radius as the
scale value on the inside edge of the base plate. Tighten
the locking screw 24.
Splinter Guard (see figure K)
The splinter guard 27 (accessory) can prevent fraying of the
surface while sawing wood. The splinter guard can only be
used for certain saw blade types and only for cutting angles of
0°. When sawing with the splinter guard, the base plate 12
must not be moved back for cuts that are close to the edge.
– Press the splinter guard 27 from the bottom into the base
plate 12.
Coolant/Lubricant
When sawing metal, coolant/lubricant should be applied
alongside cutting line because of the material heating up.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
 Have maintenance and repair work carried out only
through qualified persons. This will ensure that the safe-
ty of the pneumatic tool is maintained.
After each service, check the speed with a speed-measuring
device and check the pneumatic tool for increased vibrations.
An authorized Bosch after-sales service agent will carry out
this work quickly and reliably.
Use only original Bosch spare parts.
Regular Cleaning
– Clean the saw blade mount preferably with compressed air
or with a soft brush. To do so, remove the saw blade from
1 609 92A 37W | (9.12.16)
the pneumatic tool. Keep the saw blade mount operational
using suitable lubricants.
– Clean the sieve at the air intake of the pneumatic tool regu-
larly. For this, unscrew the hose fitting 8 and remove any
dust and debris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the
hose fitting again.
– Water and debris particles in the compressed air cause
rust and lead to wear of plates, valves etc. To prevent this,
fill several drops of engine oil into the air intake 7. Recon-
nect the pneumatic tool to the air supply (see "Connecting
the Air Supply", page 18) and run it for 5 –10 seconds,
while catching/picking up the escaping oil with a cloth. Al-
ways carry out this procedure when not using the pneu-
matic tool for a longer period of time.
– Lubricate the guide roller 2 occasionally with a drop of oil.
Check the guide roller 2 regularly. If worn, it must be re-
placed through an authorised Bosch after-sales service
agent.
Scheduled Maintenance
– Clean the gearbox after the first 150 running hours using a
mild solvent. Follow the solvent manufacturers directions
for use and disposal. Lubricate the gearbox using Bosch
gearbox lube. Repeat the lubrication procedure every
300 hours after the initial gearbox service.
Special gearbox grease (225 ml)

– The motor plates should be checked regularly by special-
ised personnel and replaced, if required.
Lubrication of Pneumatic Tools that do not belong to the
CLEAN Product Line
For all Bosch pneumatic tools that do not belong to the CLEAN
product line (these have a special type of compressed-air mo-
tor that functions with oil-free compressed air), oil mist
should be added continuously to the flowing-through com-
pressed air. The compressed-air oiler required for this is in-
cluded in the compressed-air service unit on the line side of
the pneumatic tool (for more details, please refer to the com-
pressor manufacturer).
For direct lubrication of the pneumatic tool or admixtures to
the service unit, use SAE 10 or SAE 20 engine oil.
