upwards) and manually tighten the bolts.
2
Attach both locking units (C) to the rear fork at a
right-angle and approximately 30 cm below the
socket. The locking units are suitable for rear forks
with a diameter of between 12 and 25 mm. To
adjust the opening, choose the foremost, middle or
rearmost slot in the attachment part of the locking
unit. Ensure that both locking units (left and right)
are secured at exactly the same height. Manually
tighten the bolt with the Allen key and loosen the
knob on the locking unit slightly until there is a gap
of about 1 cm.
3
Now take the seat and insert the head of the mount-
ing bracket (F) straight and all the way into the
socket (fig. 3A) or ATB bracket (fig. 3B).
4
Turn the footrest tube (B) to the correct position, fit
the ends into the locking units (C) and tighten the
knobs.
5
Adjust the Bobike junior properly. The seat of the
Bobike junior must lie horizontally. Leave a gap of at
least 1 cm between the seat and the luggage carrier
or mudguard. If the seat position is still not correct it
can be improved by moving the locking units (C) up
or down, or adjusting the position of the ATB bracket
or the socket. When the correct position has been
reached, the bolts on the locking units and the bolts
of the ATB bracket or the nut on the socket must be
tightened firmly with a torque of 10 Nm. This means
that you must turn the nuts very tight. You must
tighten the short bolts in the plastic socket until there
is no more clearance. The safety pin and the lock
ensure a secure connection and prevent the plastic
socket from turning loose. The pin also acts as a
safeguard against theft. Note: always use the safety
pin and lock on the ATB bracket.
6
You can set the height of the footrests (D) to four
positions. Secure the footrests by tightening the Allen
bolts in the bottommost and topmost hole of the nut
plate.
7
Sit your child in the Bobike junior and check that the
chosen setting is correct. If you want to change the
setting, always remove your child from the seat first.
8
To fold up the backrest of the seat, depress the red
knob on the top edge of the backrest halfway in. If
you press the button in any further, the bracket may
fold backwards.
9
In order to lower the backrest again, depress the
button while lowering the seatback.
Extra attention to safety
•
After fitting the Bobike junior, go on a short test ride
with your child. Check that all the components have
been fitted firmly enough and adjust as necessary.
Repeat this check regularly from time to time.
•
After fitting the Bobike junior, check whether all the
components of your bicycle, such as brakes and
gears, still function properly.
•
Additional mounting sets are available separately
enabling your Bobike junior to be used on more
than one bicycle. Ask your stockist for information.
•
Check whether your bicycle is suitable for mounting
the Bobike junior on.
•
Check whether the use of the Bobike junior is legally
allowed in the country in which you want to use
your Bobike junior. The cyclist must be at least 16
years old in order to convey a child in the Bobike
junior. The law in this area can vary by country.
•
The Bobike junior is designed for children up to a
maximum of 10 years old or 32 kg in weight. Check
from time to time that your child is not too old,
heavy or large for the Bobike junior.
•
Before each ride, check that no body parts or
articles of clothing interfere with rotating or moving
parts of the bicycle. This will help prevent, for exam-
ple, a foot coming between the spokes or a finger in
the brake mechanism.
•
Check that your child cannot touch any sharp parts
such as brake cables.
•
If you make use of the lap belt, always close it
when the seat is not in use. This will prevent the belt
becoming entangled in the spokes. You can store the
belt between the backrest and seat if you fold the
Bobike junior shut.
•
Ensure that your child is always properly protected
