11.2 - The cardan shaft supplied is of standard length; check therefore that the
following conditions are met when the shaft is inserted:
A) Machine fully lowered
Exceed the minimum extension by at least 4 cm (fig. 7) so as to absorb possible
further contraction of the shaft.
B) Machine fully raised
When the shaft is at maximum extension, the two tubes must overlap by at least 15
cm (fig. 8).
11.3 - Any modification of the length of the cardan shaft must also be made to the
protection devices, and must be carried out by skilled personnel.
11.4 - Check that the angles of the transmission, when in the working position, do not
exceed 20°.
11.5 - The cardan shaft cannot be used in the following conditions:
-without the protection devices;
-with partial protection devices;
-with damaged protection devices;
-without the anti-rotation chains correctly fastened.
11.6 - Warning: improper use of the cardan shaft may damage the transmission and
endanger the operator.
11.7 - If a cardan shaft not supplied by Checchi & Magli is used, it must be capable
of transmitting at least the power shown in chapter 4.0 (fig. 1).
12.0 - UNCOUPLING FROM THE TRACTOR
-position the equipment on the ground, only in a flat area;
-make certain that the equipment remains stable;
-remove fixing pins and plugs, taking care not to get between the equipment and the
tractor;
-ensure again that everything is stable, bearing in mind all eventualities.
-remove the cardan shaft from the tractor side.
13.0 - FUNCTIONS OF THE TRACTOR DRIVER
