7.6.4 Hinge the fiber holder to the
horizontal position and check the cleave
length (see 7.5.1). Slide the fiber holder
towards the fiber guiding block till it goes no
further.
7.6.5 Remove the fiber guiding block and
slide the fiber holder till it clicks.
7.7 Closing the splice and removing the
fiber out of the fiber holder
7.7.1 Turn the program control (2) to
position S .
7.7.2 Hinge the fiber clamp lever (10) in
position I and hold the lever in position
during removing the fiber completely out of
the two clamps.
Important: do not move the clamp lever
(10) from its position I when removing the
fiber out of the front fiber clamp (9).
7.7.3 To install the second fiber, lift the
fiber holder (7). Slide splice holder (4) to the
opposite side. Repeat all the steps starting
from point 7.2.4.
7.8 Locking and storing the tool after
splicing
The tool must be set in lock position by
hinging the fiberholder (7) down and pushing
it towards the center of the RCAT, turning the
program controller (2) in lock position
(position ) and hinging the handle (17)
above the fiberholder (7). Place the tool in its
transportcase.
