It is not necessary to force the chainsaw when cutting. Apply just a slight pressure while the
engine is operating at total power.
When the chain is blocked during cutting, do not try to pull at it strongly, use a wedge or a
handle to release it.
· KICKBACK PROTECTION
• This chainsaw is equipped with a chain brake that will stop the
chain if kickback occurs. You have to verify the chain brake
operation before each use by turning the chainsaw to full power
during 1-2 seconds and pushing the front manual protection
forward. The chain will stop immediately with the engine at high
speed. If the chain takes long to stop or doesn´t stop, replace the
brake coil and the clutch drum before use the machine again.
• It is extremely important to verify that the chain brake is working
correctly before each use and that the chain is sharp. The lack of compliance with all safety
rules, an inadequate maintenance, or a incorrect replacement of
the bar or chain could increase the risk of personal injuries.
CUTTING A TREE
Cutting direction
Guide cut
1. Decide the direction of the falling tree considering the wind, diameter of the tree, facility to
complete the task after cutting the tree and other factors.
2. When clearing the zone around the tree, place a good support for your feet and a way out
should you need to escape.
3. Make a cut of a third of the width of the tree on the side of the falling tree.
4. Make a notch cut on the opposite side of the notch cut at a level slightly higher than the first
notch cut.
When cutting a tree, make sure to alert surrounding workers.
Shocks and branches
Always assure a good support for your feet. Do not stand up on the trunk.
Be alert that the cut trunk does not roll. Specially when you work in an inclination, stay on the
top side of the trunk.
Follow the "safety use" instructions to avoid a possible kickback.
