Technical specifications - rechargeable batteries
3 ea. Panasonic NiMh HHR 80AAAB, 1.2 V/750 mAH, AAA
Batteries permanently charged at approx. 23 mAh, generating no heat
Charging time: 24 h (permanently connected to mains power)
No memory effect
Rechargeable battery capacity / emergency lighting duration: at least 3 h
*1)
aximum capacity only ensured by using rechargeable batteries provided.
M
Important: rechargeable batteries must be changed if the emergency light module stays on for less
than 3 h.
4. Installation
SensorLight
• Check all components for damage
• Do not use the product if it is damaged
Hazard from electrical power.
Touching live parts can result in electrical shock, burns
or death.
• Switch OFF power and interrupt power supply.
• Check safe isolation from power supply with a
...
voltage tester.
• Make sure power supply remains interrupted.
Risk of damage to property
Mixing up connection leads may produce a short
circuit.
• Identify connection leads.
Installation
Connecting the mains power supply lead (Fig. 4.8)
The mains power supply lead is a 3-core cable:
L
= phase conductor
(usually black, brown or grey)
N
= neutral conductor (usually blue)
PE = protective-earth conductor (green/yellow)
If you are in any doubt, identify the conductors
using a voltage tester; then disconnect from the
power supply again. Connect phase (L) and neutral
conductor (N) to the terminal block.
Important:
• Mixing up the connections will produce a short
circuit later on in the product or your fuse box.
In this case, you must identify the individual con-
ductors once again and re-connect them.
A mains switch for switching the product ON
and OFF may be installed in the mains supply
lead.

Installation procedure
• Select appropriate site of installation, giving con-
sideration to reach and detection of movements
• Switch OFF power supply (Fig. 4.1)
• Open luminaire (Fig. 4.2)
• Remove emergency light module (Fig. 4.3)
• Mark drill holes (Fig. 4.4)
• Drill holes and insert wall plugs (Fig. 4.5)
• Pierce cable entry or remove sealing plug and
route connection cable into the luminaire
(Fig. 4.6)
• Install luminaire
• Directly over the outlet (Fig. 4.6)
• With spacers for surface wiring (Fig. 4.7)
• Connect cables (Fig. 4.8)
• Insert rechargeable batteries into the emergency
light module, making sure they are the right way
round (Fig. 4.9)
• Fit emergency light module at the position pro-
vided for it (Fig. 4.10)
• Switch ON power supply (Fig. 4.11)
• Set emergency light ➔
5. Operating emergency light
• Sets sensors ➔
5. Operating sensor
• Close luminaire (Fig. 5.6)
5. Operation
Operating emergency light
The emergency light test must always be per-
formed before use.
• Press "test" button, emergency light LEDs ON
(Fig. 5.1)
• Release "test" button, emergency light LEDs
OFF.
• Optional additional test: disconnect supply from
luminaire.
• LED module must switch ON.
• The emergency light module can be changed
during normal luminaire operation.
– 14 –
• The charge indicator LED (charge) (Fig. 5.2)
must always light up after fitting emergency light
module - also when performing emergency light
test. The optional additional test (disconnecting
from the supply) is no substitute for test using
test button
Operating sensor
• Light-level setting (response threshold)
(Fig. 5.3). Factory setting: daylight operation
- 2-2000 lux, infinitely variable
- Control dial set to (sun) = daylight operation
approx. 2000 lux
- Control dial set to (moon) = twilight operation at
approx. 2 lux
• Time setting (switch-OFF delay)
(Fig. 5.4). Factory setting: 5 sec.
- 5 sec. - 15 min., infinitely variable
- Any movement detected before this time
elapses resets timer
- Motion detection is always interrupted for ap-
prox. 1 sec. after switching OFF the luminaire.
The luminaire can only switch light ON in
response to movement again after this period
elapses.
• Reach setting (sensitivity)
(Fig. 5.5). Factory setting: +
- Reach is understood to mean the diameter of
the more or less circular detection zone pro-
duced on the floor when mounting the sensor
at a height of 2.5 m.
- Control dial set to (–) = just before (–) minimum
reach (Ø approx. 1m)
- Control dial set to (+) = maximum reach
(Ø approx. 8 m)
- Reach can be reduced in 4 directions by fitting
the shrouds included with the luminaire
(Fig. 7.2-7.6).
6. Connection options
– Normal connection without switch, several RS
PRO LED B1 operating in parallel (Fig. 6.1)
– Normal connection with switch (Fig. 6.2)
– Normal connection with other loads connected,
e.g. fan, other types of luminaire (Fig. 6.3)
7. Limiting reach
– Reach can be limited in 4 directions by fitting
shrouds (Fig. 7.2 – 7.6)
8. SensorLight malfunctions
SensorLight without power
– Fuse has blown in building fuse box;
not switched ON; break in wiring
• Fit new fuse in building fuse box, switch ON
mains switch, check wiring with voltage tester
– Short circuit in mains power supply lead
• Check connections
– Any mains switch OFF
• Switch on at mains switch
SensorLight does not switch ON
– Wrong twilight setting selected
• Readjust
– Mains switch OFF
• Switch ON
– Fuse faulty in building's fuse box
• F it new fuse in building fuse box,
check connection if necessary
Light does not switch OFF
– Continued movement within the detection zone
• Check detection zone
SensorLight switching ON despite no move-
ment being detected
– Install luminaire at a non-vibrating site
• Securely mount enclosure
– Movement occurred but not detected by sensor
(movement behind wall, small object moving in
immediate proximity of lamp etc.)
• Check detection zone
SensorLight does not switch ON despite
movement taking place
– To minimise malfunctioning, rapid movements
are suppressed or detection zone set too small
• Check detection zone
