ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Dynamic adapters
1. Perform bench alignment in jig according to foot instructions.
NOTE: If a sole is to be used then remember to include thickness of
sole in bench alignment.
2. Clamp dynamic adapter on the foot. Align so that at least 1/3 of socket
is free from bottom. Adjust steel plate if needed.
3. Connect steel plate to socket with Epoxy or Composite 1, (Figure 3).
NOTE: Sand the joining area of the steel plate and the socket for
better bonding before bonding steel plate to socket.
4. Once epoxy is cured, remove socket from jig. Sand the epoxy to form
a slight taper, (Figure 4).
5. Wrap casting tape around steel plate and socket. Trim casting tape
around male pyramid if needed, (Figure 5).
6. Fasten socket to dynamic adapter (Figure 6). Use friction pad between
blade and adapter.
7. Torque according to Figure 7.
8. Let the patient walk and/or jog on prosthesis.
9. Adjust height and alignment as needed.
10. Ensure the patient has enough clearance during knee flexion.
11. Trim pylon of foot module min 1" from adapter to allow for later
height adjustments. Use a hack saw or a band saw to trim the foot.
Bolted adapters
1. Drill holes in the foot with 3/8" or Ø9,50 mm drill using the drill guide
holes in dynamic adapter (Figure 8).
NOTE: For Cheetah Xpanse foot: Drill only 2 mm into foot. Then
remove bracket and complete drilling through the foot.
2. Remove adapter from foot. Remove clamping plate.
NOTE: For Cheetah Xpanse remove also mid-section (Figure 9).
3. Bolt adapter onto foot and torque according to Figure 10. Check bolt
for full thread engagement. Use thread locker on all screws.
4. The patient can now run on blade.
WARNING: The Alignment Adapter Xpanse and Bolted Adapter 10° are
NOT to be used for jumping. Structural failure may occur.
For long term usage it is recommended to remove adapter and connect
the foot directly to the socket. For this a lamination connecter can be
used.
