Fundamental safety requirements
Safety standard of equipment
This equipment corresponds to the fundamental safety requirements of the pressure equipment guide-
line and state-of-the-art technology. It has been inspected and its technical safety condition was perfect
when it left the factory. In order to maintain this condition for the life expectance of the instrument , the
information provided in the operating manual must be observed and followed
Please note the special information provided for starting-up explosion-proof equipment. You will find
this in the Ex chapter of the main operating manual (Specifications for Ex version).
The equipment satisfies the EMC requirements as defined in EN 61326 /NAMUR NE 21.
Should the auxiliary power fail, all equipment parameters are backed up in a NVRAM or FRAM
(including the present counter status). Once the auxiliary power has been switched back on, the
equipment is immediately ready for operation.
User instructions
for carrying liquid, viscous or glutinous media with electrical conductivity to measure:
in volume units
in mass units (at constant temperature) if mass flow units have been selected
operation within technical limit values.
observing and following the information provided on permissible media (fluids).
observing and following the instructions provided in the operating manual.
observing and following the associated documents (specification, diagrams, dimensions sheet).
operation as a flexible adapter in piping, e.g. to compensate for pipe offsets, pipe vibrations, pipe
expansions etc.
use as a climbing aid, e.g. for assembly purposes.
use as a support for external loads, e.g. as support for piping etc.
material loss, e.g. by drilling into the housing or material gain, e.g. by painting over the type plate or
welding on or soldering on parts.
repairs, modifications and supplements or the installation of spare parts is only permitted if done as
described in the operating manual. More extensive work must be approved by ABB. This does not
apply to repairs made at facilities authorised by ABB. We assume no liability for unauthorized work.
Technical limit values
the permissible pressure (PS) and the permissible fluid temperature (TS) must be ≤ the pressure and
temperature values in the Appendix to this operating instruction. The specifications on the factory
panel / name plate are to be observed.
