Troubleshooting
EN - 22
Cause
• Tungsten electrode and plasma
nozzle make contact
• Distance between tungsten
electrode and plasma nozzle
too large
• Tungsten electrode is worn out
or oxidised
• Distance between workpiece
and torch too large
• Pilot arc does not burn
• Connection between workpiece
and power source interrupted
• Inadequate coolant flow
• Welding current too high
• Coolant hose or liquid-cooled
power cable constricted or
sealed
• Plasma nozzle not properly
tightened
• Tungsten electrode worn out
• Plasma nozzle worn out
• Centring ceramics missing or
damaged
• Powder gas flow deforms the
arc
• Powder storage tank empty
• Powder delivery unit not
delivering
• Powder hose clogged or kinked • Blow compressed air through
• Powder nozzle clogged
• No powder gas

Troubleshooting
• Re-adjust the electrode
• Re-adjust the electrode
• Re-sharpen and align the
electrode
• Shorten the distance
• Ignite the pilot arc
• Connect the earth cable
• Check the coolant recirculator
and change the setting if
necessary
• Reduce the welding current
• Remove constriction and
replace cable assembly if
necessary
• Tighten plasma nozzle
• Re-sharpen tungsten electrode
• Replace plasma nozzle
• Replace centring ceramics
• Clean or replace powder
nozzle, reduce powder gas
volumetric flow
• Refill powder
• Check powder delivery unit
and replace it if necessary
the hose to unclog it and check
it
• Clean powder nozzle and
replace it if necessary
• Check powder gas flow
