3.
Connect the electrode torch power cable connector to the negative quick-
connection terminal (-) and the torch push button connector to the corre-
sponding socket.
CAUTION: THE EARTH CABLE CONNECTOR AND THE TORCH POWER CABLE
CONNECTED AS ABOVE WILL RESULT IN STRAIGHT POLARITY WELDING. THIS
GENERATOR IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GTAW (TIG) WELDING WITH REVERSE
POLARITY.
4.
Insert the cylinder gas pipe into this fitting and secure with a hose clamp.
5.
Press the illuminated switch to turn on the power source.
6.
Select the wants modality (Rif. 2-3-4 - Fig. 1 page 3).
7.
Check that there are no gas leaks.
8.
Adjust welding current with amperes selector (Rif. 7 - Fig. 1 page 3) .
2.6

2-STROKE TIG WELDING

To apply 2-stroke tig welding, set the welding mode selector (Rif. 2 - Fig. 1 page
3) to position:
Adjust the slope down duration with the potentiometer (Rif. 8 - Fig. 1 page 3)
2.7
4-STROKE TIG WELDING.
To apply 4-stroke tig welding, set the welding mode selector (Ref.3 - Fig. 1 page
3) to position:
Adjust the slope down duration with the potentiometer (Rif. 8 - Fig. 1 page 3) .
2.8

GTAW WELDING (TIG) IN SPOTS

To apply spot welding, set the welding mode selector to position (Ref. 4 - Fig. 1 page 3)
Timed spot welding ( Point 4 - Paragraphe 3.1.a) and then set the duration by
means of the potentiometer

FUNCTIONS
a.
WELDING MODE SELECTOR
( Rif. 1,2,3,4 - Fig. 1 page 3) Four-position selector for selecting the required
welding mode.
1. Welding with coated electrodes. Position: for welding with coated
electrodes.
2. Position: for TIG welding with down slope regulator. The down
slope regulator is activated on release of the trigger.
3. 4-stroke TIG welding. Position: the torch button operates with a 4
stroke function. When the trigger is pressed once, gas emission is acti-
vated. Welding is then activated on release of the trigger. When the trigger
is pressed twice, the down slope regulator is activated until the arc is shut
off. Welding current is shut off on release of the trigger.
4. Timed spot-welding. Timed spot-welding. Extremely useful welding
mode for short and repetitive welding. Welding is activated when the
trigger is pressed. Spot welding intervals are controlled by the potenti-
ometer (Ref. 8- Fig. 1 page 3).
b.
ON INDICATOR LIGHT
(Ref. 5 - Fig. 1 page 3) This comes on when the generator is ready to
weld.
c.
OVERHEATING WARNING LIGHT
The yellow LED (Ref. 6 - Fig. 1 page 3) on the front panel indicates
overheating due to an excessive duty cycle. Interrupt welding opera-
tion; leave the power source on until the lamp goes out, thereby signal-
ling that temperature has returned to normal.
d.
AMPERAGE SELECTOR
Use control knob (Ref. 7 - Fig. 1 page 3) to regulate
welding current.
e.
TIMER SLOPE /DOWN POTENTIOMETER
(Ref. 8 - Fig. 1 page 3) Regulates the down slope time from 0 to
6 seconds in 2 or 4-stroke welding mode. Regulates spot weld-
ing interval from 0.2 to 6 seconds in spot welding mode.
f.
PULSER SELECTOR / AC FREQUENCY
g.
AC/DC SELECTOR
(Rif. 10 - Fig. 1 page 3) Selection of direct or alternating cur-
rent.
h.
BALANCING REGULATOR
(GB) 3
(Ref. 9 - Fig. 1 page 3) The power source delivers
direct current in DC mode and in position 0. The fol-
lowing positions set the current pulse frequency. In AC
mode, the same positions set the alternating current
frequency.
( Rif. 11 - Fig. 1 page 3) Regulates ratio-between
descaling and penetration. Rotation clockwise
increases penetration and anticlockwise increases
descaling. The central position ensures the ideal
compromise between descaling and penetration.
