PROCEDURES FOR USE

If the chimney catches fire you must call the fire brigade immediately.

Checks prior to start-up

You have read and perfectly understood the contents of this instructions manual.
Before lighting the stove, you must ensure that:
the combustion chamber is clean;
every element that could burn has been removed (instructions, various stickers).

Stove start-up

To light the stove, proceed as described below:
1
Clean the combustion grille by removing the residue left over from previous use, using the grille-shaker if necessary.
Empty the ash drawer as needed.
2
Open the primary air all the way, moving the primary air control lever to the right (lighting position). Using the grille shaker,
keep the grille holes open half way.
3
Place a lighting module on top of the grille, composed of several layers of dry sticks, on top of which four pieces of wood
in a cross-shape, creating 2 layers.
4
Place natural fire starter on the grille under the lighting module.
5
Close the combustion chamber door.
Wood for lighting
Length: 20 – 25 cm
Thickness: 2 – 5 cm
Overall amount: approx. 2 kg
Using an insufficient amount of wood for lighting, or wood cut into excessively large pieces, slows heating and reaching the right
temperature in the combustion chamber. This makes lighting difficult with poor combustion and large amounts of soot or putting out
the fire when the door is closed.
Loading in the fuel
Length: 20 – 25 cm
Quantity: 2 logs
Overall mass: approx. 1.8 kg
When combustion has started, slowly open the door to avoid back-fire and back-puffing into the room, and insert the recommended
wood load. If the stove is working correctly and the advice provided here is followed, you will need to put more wood in the stove when
there are only embers in the hearth. The amount of time that the load lasts depends on the type of wood, the quantity, its dryness and
the stove adjustment. Read the chapter on combustion control to optimise stove consumption.
If a long time had elapsed since the last load, but the embers are still burning, to light the new load we recommend opening the
primary air more until you get a flame. Then place the primary air lever back on the operating position.

During the first hours of use the paints used for the stove finish may release an unpleasant
odour. You might also smell the typical odour of metal parts subject to high temperatures.
Make sure sufficient air circulation is guaranteed in the room. These unavoidable
inconveniences will disappear after the first hours of operation. To reduce your discomfort
to a minimum, keep the stove on for a few hours on low power and in the beginning, do not
overload it, avoiding intense heating-cooling cycles.
At the initial start-up, the paint finishes drying and hardens. Accordingly, to avoid ruining
it, we advise you not to touch the stove's painted surfaces at this time.
By moving the grille-shaker lever back and forth, you open and
close the air holes on the grille.
For optimal combustion we recommend placing the lever in its
intermediate position so that the holes are half open.
To clear the ember and ash grille, move the lever back and forth
several times.
