The 123\FIAT is designed for 2 cyl. FIAT-engines ; and can be used on standard engines ( curve '0' – '3' )
but it also offers 12 curves ( '4' to 'F' ) for tuning-purposes and/or for driving on other fuels like ethanol
( E85 ).
To choose between the different advance-curves, the user can select the advance-curve of his choice by
turning a rotary-switch indicated '0' to 'F'. This switch can be accessed after removing a hexagonal nut
from the bottomface of the distributor. ( see also : 'advance curves' below )
Install the unIt as follows
STEP 1 : Set the engine to TDC ( Top Dead Center, indicated on the pulley ) for cylinder number 1.
Watch the position of the rotor of the old distributor : it has to 'point' to the high-voltage
cable leading to cylinder number one.
STEP 2 : Factory-setting is curve '0' , the most common FIAT-curve. Might you want to select another
advance curve : open the hexagonal nut, and select the curve of your choice.
STEP 3 : Install the "123\FIAT", and use the supplied spacer if necessary. ( Fiat 500 / Fiat 126 engine )
Connect the red wire to the +12 Volt from the key-contact. Leave the black wire unconnected
for now.
Now turn the ignition-key on, and slowly turn the 123\FIAT clockwise, until the LED goes
out. Now, turn it SLOWLY in counter-clockwise direction, until the LED just comes on again.
