1. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The electrical machines are components conceived for industrial use. They are to be incorporated in machines
or systems and cannot, thus, be treated as retail products.
The authorized personnel must follow the instructions provided.
Such instructions must be used in addition to the legislative provisions and technical regulations in force, or not,
for safety purposes.
Special operating machines or machines with manufacturing variants may have different details than the ones
described. In case of inquiries, please contact Marelli Motori S.p.A. and specify:
the type of machine
the entire code of the machine
the serial number
Some of the recommendations mentioned in this manual are preceded by the following warning signs
to alert you of any risk of accidents:
WARNING!
The rotating electrical machines have dangerous parts since they are powered or in motion when operating.
Therefore:
improper use,
the removal of the protections,
the disconnection of the protection devices,
the lack of inspections and maintenance,
can cause serious injuries/damage to people or objects.
The safety manager must therefore make sure that the machine is only handled, installed, commissioned,
managed, inspected, maintained and repaired by authorized personnel only, thus by individuals with:
specialized technical training and experience,
knowledge of the technical standards and applicable laws,
knowledge of the general national and local safety requirements of the system,
the ability to recognized and avoid any danger.
Any work on the electrical machine must be authorized by the safety manager and carried out when the
machine is off and disconnected from the power supply (including from the auxiliaries, such as space
heater).
The electrical machine supplied is conceived for industrial use. Additional protection measures must be
adopted and ensured by the individual in charge of the system whenever more restrictive protections
are needed.
Since the electric generator is a component that is mechanically coupled to another machine (individual or part
of a system), the installer is in charge of ensuring an adequate level of protection during its installation
by avoiding contact with the moving parts that may not be protected and for people and objects,
If the machine presents abnormal operating issues (excessive or reduced voltage, increase in
temperature, noise level, vibrations), promptly advise the maintenance personnel.
