Mic 1 XLR/¼" Input Jack: Connect your DJ mic at this location. Note that this input and the rear Mic
1 input jack share the same gain and tone controls.

Mic 1& 2 ON/OFF: Toggles activation of the DJ Mic. Leave off when not used.

Mic Gain: This knob adjusts the gain of the microphone input.
4.
Mic Bass: This knob adjusts the low-tone of the microphone.
5.
Mic Treble: This knob adjusts the high-tone of the microphone.

Mic Talkover: Press the knob to toggle activation of mic talkover. When you speak into mic 1 or 2, the
PGM mix (mixdown of CH1-4) will drop out. When you stop speaking, it will gently rise back. Adjusting
the talkover knob controls the sensitivity of the talkover effect. At the maximum position, the PGM
(program) submix will cut out almost completely when you speak into the microphone.

Channel Input Selector: This selects which rear panel input source is routed through the channel. You
can select between PHONO/AUX LINE and LINE/DIGITAL. Rear panel switches are used to select
between PHONO and AUX LINE and between LINE and DIGITAL (refer to the Rear Panel Features
chapter).

Replaceable Channel fader: This vertical fader controls the PGM (program) mix audio level for the
respective channel. Note: The channel faders are user replaceable in the unlikely event that it wears
out. Simply remove the facepanel and then remove the screws holding it in position. Replace the fader
with a quality authorized replacement from your local Numark retailer.

Gain Knob (Input Level Trim): This rotary control adjusts the pre-fader input signal levels of the
inputs.
This level adjustment should be used with the pre-fader meter to match levels of both input
channels.

Pre Fader Level Meter (PFL): Accurately shows level of incoming channel audio. Accurately match
channel levels with the Pre-fader gain and EQ controls before mixing them together. The idea is to
properly match PFL inputs. You should avoid trying to match the input with the stereo output meter.
The meter displays the greater of left vs. right inputs. With the compressor/limiter option set (see
Customize Mode), the top of the meter accurately displays the compressor gain reduction in red, while
the blue portion shows the level.

meter appears brightly, it is recommended that the gain trim or channel fader is brought back a little to
ensure a wider dynamic range.

Channel Filter Mode: Selects between 3-Band EQ Mode and Filter Mode when the button is pressed.
Note: If the user pushes and holds this button, the parameter of the knobs will be held constant until
released.
In this way the user can pre-set the knobs to a desired EQ/Filter position, then release the
button to change between EQ and Filter mode.

Channel EQ/Filter Controls:
3-Band EQ Mode:
In 3-Band EQ mode the Bass, Mid and Treble controls adjust these frequency areas.
programmed in Customize Mode. Users can select between two different gain ranges
([-8 ,+12dB] or [-6dB, +6dB]) and two different frequency crossovers (wide mid band, narrow mid
band). Refer to the Customize Mode chapter for more details.
Filter mode:
In Filter mode, the EQ knobs control a sweepable filter.
"Type": The type knob continuously fades between Low-Pass, Band-Pass & High-Pass Filter.
"Resonance": The resonance (Q) knob controls the added gain (resonant peak) at the center
frequency. Increasing this value will make the filter "whistle" at the corner frequency.
"Frequency": The frequency knob tunes the filter corner frequency.
