1 Introduction
This quick guide will assist you in starting up the unit. Follow
the safety notices or injury to health or property damage may
occur. Carefully read the original operating instructions in-
cluding information on maintenance and troubleshooting
prior to startup. These are located on the included CD and on-
line at

cification- or technical data without prior notice. Please keep
these instructions for future reference.
1.1 Intended Use
Condensate accumulates when operating gas analysis sys-
tems. This is collected in the condensate trap.
The GL 1 and GL 2 receptacles have a drain valve and only dif-
fer in size. The GL 3 receptacle further has a level switch for
displaying the fill level or controlling a pump. The drain is a
glass thread version into which a drain valve can optionally be
installed.
All condensate traps are made from Duran glass and PTFE,
making them corrosion-resistant.
The condensate traps may further be used in zone 1 and 2 ex-
plosion class IIA and IIB explosive areas. For this use, the provi-
sions in chapter "Use in explosive atmosphere areas" must be
observed in addition to the other specifications in these oper-
ating instructions.
1.2 Design types
If a receptacle has special features, these are described separ-
ately in the operating manual. Please note the version when
ordering spare parts.
Please refer to the nameplate to identify your model. In addi-
tion to the job number it also contains the item number and
model designation.

2 Safety instructions
The equipment must be installed by a professional familiar
with the safety requirements and risks.
Be sure to observe the safety regulations and generally applic-
able rules of technology relevant for the installation site. Pre-
vent malfunctions and avoid personal injuries and property
damage.
The operator of the system must ensure:
• Safety notices and operating instructions are available
and observed,
• Inspections prior to initial operation and routine inspec-
tions according to the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and
Health (BetrSichV) are performed,
• The respective national accident prevention regulations
are observed,
• The permissible data and operational conditions are
maintained,
• Safety guards are used and mandatory maintenance is
performed,
• Legal regulations are observed during disposal.
DANGER
Electrical voltage
Electrocution hazard.
a) Disconnect the device from power supply.
b) Make sure that the equipment cannot be reconnected to
mains unintentionally.
c) The device must be opened by trained staff only.
d) Regard correct mains voltage.
DANGER
Toxic and corrosive gases / condensate
Sample gas / condensate can be hazardous.
a) Take care that the gas is exhausted in a place where no
persons are in danger.
b) Before maintenance turn off the gas supply and make
sure that it cannot be turned on unintentionally.
c) Protect yourself during maintenance against toxic / cor-
rosive gases / condensate. Use gloves, respirator and face
protector under certain circumstances.
DANGER
Potentially explosive atmosphere
Explosion hazard if used in hazardous areas.
The device is not suitable for operation in hazardous areas
with potentially explosive atmospheres.
Do not expose the device to combustible or explosive gas mix-
tures.
