INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE (Use Aseptic Technique)
Prior to initiation of a venous access session, aspirate

and discard the solution that was instilled in the
Hemodialysis Catheter during the previous session
2.
At the completion of each venous access session,
flush the lumens of the catheter with 5 mL of sterile
0.9% Sodium Chloride solution to remove any blood,
medication or other substance remaining in the
catheter.
3.
Aseptically open package containing DuraLock-C™
prefilled syringe(s). Inspect the contents of the syringe(s)
according to PRECAUTIONS.
4.
Hold the syringe with the cap end up and carefully twist
the cap off (Fig. 1).
5.
To remove any air bubbles, point luer end of syringe up
and gently tap the syringe with fingers until air bubbles
rise to top of the syringe.
6.
Keep luer end of syringe pointing up and slowly push
the plunger up to force air bubbles out of the syringe

on the syringe that matches the priming volume
(Prescribed by the catheter manufacturer) (Fig. 2, Fig.3).

Connect the syringe to the catheter. Use only with
compatible luer lock connectors (Fig. 4).
Slowly, over a 5 to 10 second period, instill the

exact priming volume, as specified by the catheter
manufacturer, of DuraLock-C™ solution into each
catheter lumen, as a locking agent.
10. Remove and discard unused portions and empty
syringes according to the institution's biohazardous
waste policy.
